The Stories …
Even though Jan now owns another boat because he lives on the boat and the Laurin Koster 32 was too small for it at some point, he sailed Europe intensively with her for several years and published his experiences in a blog www.ahora.de.
More information about Jan and his experiences with the Laurin Koster 32 will be available here shortly.
Claus has put a lot of work into his ACHAT - one of the few Laurin Koster 32s made of wood (mahogany planked over oak frames) that still sail the seas. But the work has paid off and now he is mainly sailing on the Baltic Sea and reporting about it on his YouTube channel www.youtube.com/@fridaradio.
Hopefully there will soon be more here about Claus and his experiences with the Laurin Koster 32.
Thomas, the host of this website, bought OCEAN DARLING in 2024 from a Dutch owner and has now started to make the boat seaworthy, initially with a view to taking her to the Mediterranean. The aim is to head for the Caribbean in a few years' time.

Dominique and Maja have been traveling the world with their Laurin Koster 32 for several years now and report about it in their blog www.sy-yemaya.com. They are currently in the Caribbean and quite busy with their shop MAR-nautic. But as soon as they have a little more time, they will be posting details of their trip and their boat here.
Jens Bahnsen, the German owner, is currently sailing MAJ II in the Canary Islands together with his wife Karin and explains:
The ship arrived in 1967 as a hull by rail transport from Malmö. My parents bought it as a more comfortable successor to the Folkeboot MAJ. It was built according to plans by their friend Wilfried Zimmermann at the Knierim shipyard in Laboe.
I remember that my father bought a whole teak trunk in Bremen, I thought that was amazing.
The christening took place on April 17, 1968. I have the invitation here on board.
My parents used the boat intensively in the summer. My brother and I enjoyed making the transfer trips to Norway and Sweden. We were also on board when the MAJ II was used as the Alpha1 marker boat on the Alpha course at the 1972 Sailing Olympics.
I'm sure you realize how many memories are attached to it.
